Remember the real rose petal jewelry tutorial post I wrote about not long ago?  The easiest seems to be incorporating bits of the flowers into polymer clay.  Well.  This artisan will change your perception of what real rose petal jewelry could be!  Svetlana, the Russian artisan behind Botanist in Love (updated link to her new shop), makes beautifully preserved whole rose petals mounted on polymer clay.

Svetlana has sound reasons why she works with polymer clay. She explained, "Polymer clay gives a high strength for regular usage. I use two types of covering to protect and seal the petals: matte and glossy. Both are crystal clear and keep natural petal look for many years."  I particularly love how she uses just white polymer clay. This gives her design a crisp, finished look.

She also has a wonderful talent for staging her photographs.  As a "botanist in love," she suggest there might well be a love potion!  Did you know the traditional fourth wedding anniversary gift is for flowers and fruits? These jewelry designs will not wilt!
