I have occasionally come across people who are allergic to metal. But that doesn't mean they can't wear jewelry.  So here are two yarn knitted necklace tutorials with button closures without any metal in it!

These tutorials should also help you whittle down fine yarn stashes!

The first one is a clever cable braided necklace design  (shown above) by Olga Buraya-Kefelian of Olgajazzy. A brilliant idea to include buttonholes in the simple knitted stripes and then create the cable look!

Another one to try is this front button necklace.  Got a spectacular button?  Perhaps a hand made clay one? This tutorial by Kathy North over on Ravelry is for you.
