Fen Li is from Wisconsin and she specializes in wire and bead work. This French Beaded Flowers technique dates way back to the 16th century.
She has always been fascinated with beads since her childhood - an off and on passion which became ON when she was in college. Fen admitted, "Instead of doing my statistics homework, I searched for beads on the internet and discovered French Beaded Flowers. I have been smitten since."
I have featured many of Fen's tutorials over time - see the links below. You can see more, including her blog on Bead Flora. She also sells her finished work and tutorials through her Etsy store, Bead Flora Studio.
She has exciting news as her first book Bead Flora : The Revival of French Beaded Flowers is now out. I will be doing a book review and giveaway next Monday, February 18, 2019 - so stay tuned! In the meantime, check out her Youtube video about it!
In celebration, Fen is offering a free tutorial for her French Beaded Flowers which are shown in the above image. You can download the free PDF tutorial here.
Shown here are some of my favorite tutorials (some are also kits) from her Etsy store.
Waterlily French Beaded Flower Tutorial
This is her French Beaded lucky clover tutorial which can be worn as a pendant, ring, brooch or earrings. Just in time for St Patrick's Day next month!
Her lovely enchanted rose tutorial is inspired by Disney's movie, Beauty and the Beast.
Her tutorials and book can help get you started on this lovely technique. As you can see from a couple of designs from her gorgeous wedding bouquet collection, these 3D beaded creations are to be treasured and will never fade!
Fen will also be teaching at the Bead and Button Show in Milwaukee, WI this June.
