I really admire wire artists who can literally sketch with wire! The designs look deceptively simple. Dublin based Didi of FioreJewellery is one wonderful example of someone who can create delightful and uplifting designs.
Many of her designs are inspired by nature such as the monstera leaf pendant above and a whimsical assortment of animals. One of my favorites is the giraffe family design shown below. But what first caught my eye was her fun lightbulb earrings - there is also a pendant design.
Didi uses tarnish resistant material like argentium silver, fine silver and rhodium plated chains in her designs which should please those who don't like tarnishing of sterling silver.
Didi says, "My inspiration comes from different places, my travels (another one of my passions!), cultures (I’m from Italy and Ireland is now my home), nature (I love birds), science (I’m a closet geek), even the unexpected beauty found in ordinary objects (yes, light bulbs can be very inspiring!), really anything that evokes a sense of wonder and 'joie de vivre'."
