Wire Ballerina Pendant Tutorial

Wire figurines make for great custom jewelry.  If you have a ballet or dance fan, consider making them a wire ballerina pendant! Gloria Uhler of Domestic Diva Online's tutorial is wonderful! Love that little flower bead detail.

The entire ballerina is make from a single length of 18 G wire with the exception of the hair bun ( 24 G wire). She shares a color coded step by step schematic working from her design drawing.

I also suggest you give the ballerina pendant a light hammering with a nylon hammer to "set" the wire in place.

Gloria was inspired - and got addicted - making wire figurines after she read my blog post, Whimsical Wire Animal Jewelry by 1ofAkinds.  As you can see from Liz's shop, she is skilled at "sketching" with wire.

Remember that wire work takes practice!  Keep trying.
