It has been 10 years since I wrote about Marsha Wiest-Hines's double life.  She has more than 30 years of experience designing costumes for stage and for competitive ice and ballroom dancers. She is also the beadwork designer behind HauteIceBeadwork - no surprise what inspired her shop name!

Marsha said, "Personal adornment and expression of character through clothing has been a life-long interest of mine."

She sometimes combined her jewelry skills with her talent for costume design.  In her 2009 blog post, she showed how she integrated both the costume and the jewelry for a competitive ballroom dancer.

But she is now semi-retired. Marsha explained, "I make about 6 gowns a year, compared to the 40+ projects a year I was taking on when I was in full swing and had employees. I try to think of both Made for Movement (the costume business) and Haute Ice Beadwork as part time pleasure jobs."

She clearly still loves what she does. Marsha has a number of published designs as well as a string of jewelry design awards. She is always coming up with new designs.  My favorites from her latest collection is the Summer Fruit Series. Delicious in style and color!  No wonder they are her current best-sellers.

Some of her other designs show her theatrical flair! Her White Lilac design and the Dusk necklace would not look out of place on a stage.
