Just when I thought Vietnamese wire artist Lan Anh has covered all the possible wire caged bead styles (see links below), she comes up with another one!

This water droplet style caged bead pendant tutorial has an elegant shape. Pretty marbles or round gemstone beads come to mind. While you can certainly add other odd shaped nuggets in there, the round shapes will be the most visually pleasing.

The first thing she does with the wire lengths is to bind them together while they are lying side by side, with wire weaving. This is what eventually comes the bottom of the water droplet.  The way she wire weaves this section results in a lovely pattern.

She also had an interesting way of finishing off the binding wire at the bail end. She twists the two ends together and then tucks in this to below the bail and trims off the ends.

One always learns from every instructor!
