Watch This 3D Goldfish Fish Painting Tutorial

Long time blog readers might remember my feature post on an amazing Japanese artist, Riusuke Fukahori, who paints 3D goldfish on many layers of resin.  Many of his pieces are larger art installations although he is also known for his goldfish in the bowl collection.

Watch this tutorial by Art-Craft Tutorial which shows how the technique is done. As you can see it takes patience to wait for each layer of resin to cure before the artist is able to paint the next little bit of the fish and vegetation.

I have yet to see a resin jewelry artist try this technique!

  1. Fascinating!!. In some respects, it reminds me of woodblock paintings.

    1. I think the resin work has much more depth than woodblock paintings - I take it you mean the Japanese ones?
