Russian beadwork designer, Marlina of MarlinaLuckyBeads creates really elegant beadwork earrings.  I especially love the ones where she adds set Swarovski crystals into the designs such as the dragonfly earrings shown below.

There is something of an old world charm about her designs. I wonder if she is inspired by the opulent arts and culture from Russia's Imperial past?



Marlina lives in St Petersburg, home to the Hermitage Museum of Art and Culture - the second largest museum in the world after the Louvre in France.  You and I may never be able to travel there but you can get a glimpse of Russia's historical past in this short video by Renata Pereira, a multi-lingual Brazilian travel vlogger. One of the heritage buildings there includes the Winter Palace where the Russian Czars and their families once lived.
