I first came across British designer, SianNolan's work when she shared the results of miniature beaded dresses and bags designed by Japanese beaders.  So it is to no one's surprise, Sian has a fondness for whimsical beaded designs.

Her store, SianNolan, is full of delightful beadwork ornaments and jewelry tutorials and patterns. A number are 3D desigsns,  I particularly love her beaded needlecases. As you can see from my selection, Sian has a sense of humor and is probably a big fan of David Bowie.

Sian told me how she got started :
Like a lot of other people I came to beading through other crafts. My Mum taught me to knit when I was young and then I went on to do cross-stitch and lace making. Then one Christmas my Mum bought me a Mill Hill bead kit for a beaded needle case and that was it, I was hooked! And now 20 odd years later I’m still obsessed!

She described the following design as follows : "'Hens in Heels' are Henrietta and Tallulah, two fashionable ladies who just don't look good in flats!"
