I love the look of ceramic jewelry. But they can be heavy especially for bold earrings design. This is why I just love this faux ceramic polymer clay jewelry tutorial.  The designer is Hélène Jeanclaude, a French polymer clay artist who shares many beautiful polymer clay jewelry tutorials on her Youtube

She uses pan pastels to get that shaded look. I like how she uses a layer of varnish and scrapings from chalk pastel sticks to get those black flecks!  She also finishes with a layer of resin to give that final shiny glazed ceramic look. It doesn't have to be UV resin.  I prefer to use Brilliant Resin from Little Windows which is an excellent and safe resin to use  - use BG1516 for 15% off.

Her tip on how to use two layers of polymer clay to sandwich and thus hide the stud pads is also a great tip.
