Japanese artist, Tatsuya Tanaka's work is probably familiar to many of you already. He has been delighting people all over the world with his amazing miniature worlds since 2011. Bored Panda has featured his dioramas using everyday objects many times

He is so creative, he comes up with dioramas and photographs them beautifully every single day. Hence the name of his website, miniature-calendar.com.  Shown below are just a very few of the thousands he has designed.  Some with clever references to pop culture. You can see more on his social media :  Instagram | Facebook | Youtube

He 3D prints the little people and some small props and paints them according to his needs. Watch his video which shows him working in his studio :

The artist explains  :
Everyone must have had thoughts like these before: Broccoli and parsley may sometimes look like a forest of trees, and tree leaves floating on the surface of water may sometimes look like little boats. Everyday occurrences seen from a miniature perspective can bring us lots of fun thoughts. I wanted to take this way of thinking and express it through photographs, so I started to put together a “MINIATURE CALENDAR.” These photographs primarily depict diorama-style figures surrounded by daily necessities.
You can purchase books and postcards on his work on his site as well as on Amazon

Jewelry designers have also used small figurines in their designs before using those made for model railway enthusiasts or from small toys like the Polly Pockets.  Note that the model railway ones are available in different sizes/scales.

Here are some of my favorites.  Also see the links below for more!

These house and couple earrings would make for a great housewarming gift! The three designers of pepeyoyojewelry are from Greece. They have other wonderful miniature figure jewelry designs in their shop.

This clever splash resin ring design is by Marta of GoldFingerBarcelona. Makes a wonderful gift for swimming enthusiasts. She also has other miniature figurine designs so check out her store.

These fun painter stud earrings are by French designer NunaaJewelry.

Isabell Kiefhaber is a German artist behind GeschmeideUnterTeck whose amazing resin rings I featured in the past.  This miniature with a woman using a treadle sewing machine is most unusual.
