What a great question Pearl! This is really a nuisance problem isn't it. Seems that no matter what you are wearing for a necklace there's the clasp that's snuck around and is now residing at the pendant. Arghhh!
ReplyDeleteI've made plenty of necklaces that have the clasp as part of the necklace design so that the clasp sits on one side of the necklace instead of at the back.
There are so many beautiful clasps to purchase or make your own and they become part of the focus of the necklace.
That's all I've got my friend!
That's a great idea to have to clasp deliberately in front as part of the design. Wearers will appreciate the ease of putting on and taking off the necklace!
DeleteI have tried everything. I use an adjustable chain if it is delicate and that works pretty good. I have noticed many people are putting the clasp at the front which I really like. I use nice clasps so why not show them off. I just googled and many people use glue. OUCH !!
ReplyDeleteI can't see me doing that especially the gorilla glue. LOL
Glue? (Slaps hand on forehead)!
DeleteAll valuable ideas. I make leather cords for my pendants but I'm not sure the customers will approve of the knots (and beads) as they may want to be able to change cords. But with handcrafted chains, I use most of the above ideas.
ReplyDeleteMy head is still spinning at the idea of anybody wanting to GLUE their necklace onto them, as a solution to the clasp moving problem!!! These are great ideas above. Jakki
