I love colorful banded necklaces. Most of the time, I see them made with colored thread wrapped around a thick cord interior (see links below). However, we can achieve this look in other ways.

First up is the tubular herringbone necklace tutorial using 11/0 beads by Bahşen, a talented beader from Türkiye (formerly known as Turkey).  The stitch is fairly straightforward but some planning of the color band sections will be necessary. She used magnetic clasps for the finish.

Another way is to wrap and secure lengths of beaded thread around a paracord core and securing with the needle and thread every so often.  Shown below is the tutorial by CheyenneSpiritCreationz. She uses leather tabs to finish the necklace.

Alternatively, you can use metal end caps of the right size - I love those from TierraCast and glue them on with Starbond Medium glue.  This is an excellent and strong glue that I often use.  Just remember to place in the glue in the end caps and then insert the finished necklace.  Not the other way round to avoid getting glue on your hands and generally making a mess.

Use Code BGSB15 at the Starbond checkout to save 15%. You can also purchase the Medium from Amazon.
