The Beading Gem

Remember when I raved about Hungarian bead designer, Assza's glamorous beadwork tutorials?  Many of you clearly agreed when you visited her amazing shop, Assza Beading Arts.  If you haven't been, please do! Simply stunning designs.

Owls are very popular in jewelry designs.  It has been awhile since I featured some mostly bead embroidered owl jewelry tutorials. They were wildly popular.  So I went hunting for more - beadwoven ones this time!  More is good, right?

The design above is one of my favorites as it shows an owl getting ready to fly!  The appropriately named Hedwig owl pendant tutorial is by Zsuzsanna of beadsbyvezsuzsi.

The triquetra is also known as the Trinity Knot. This Christian symbol was adapted from ancient Celtic pagan ones. It is now often taken to be a sign of the Holy Trinity (Father, Son and the Holy Spirit) hence its alternative name.

There are 3 leaf like interlocked shapes which can sometimes include a circle as you can see from the variations below.

It's almost Easter so here is a fine collection of bunny tutorials and patterns to inspire. I've chosen not just the jewelry ones but delightful craft DIYs which are on the small side. You can use some of them as keychain charms or as ornaments. The crochet amigurumi ones can be used as challenges to make them really small enough to be jewelry charms. You game?

Need something quick to do for Christmas?  Here are some nifty beadwork tutorials to tempt you!  The above are adorable miniature beaded sweaters. The designer is Katie Dean of Beadflowers. Here is her original and popular miniature sweater tutorial.  She also has amazing and more challenging beadwork ornament designs. 
Use them as ornaments or pendants.  They can be customized for different seasons or even something like initials if you can tinker with beading charts.
