Extruders are very useful for polymer clay. This tutorial by AlekSanta shows how you can use extrusions to form lovely Celtic knots. The clay emerges as round tubes which were then slightly flattened before by used to make the knots!
The tutorial also demonstrates how a simple toothbrush can create the stippling effect. The choice of color is reminiscent of copper patina.

ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know! I have fixed it.
DeleteThe things you can do with extruders!
ReplyDeleteI agree with "aims" - although I wondered why if Aleksanta has an extruder, she used a round shape then flattened it. I have the same extruder and it comes with thin flat shapes. It would just saved another step. My right click button is not working on my mouse right now so I viewed the tutorial without the translation. Maybe there was a mention of this. The toothbrush technique was a nice addition to the texture. Love Celtic designs!
