The triquetra is also known as the Trinity Knot. This Christian symbol was adapted from ancient Celtic pagan ones. It is now often taken to be a sign of the Holy Trinity (Father, Son and the Holy Spirit) hence its alternative name.

There are 3 leaf like interlocked shapes which can sometimes include a circle as you can see from the variations below.

Beaders naturally rise to the challenge of stitching the triquetra!  The design shown above is the Celtic Knot earrings tutorial by Sue Harle.  This tubular peyote is rated for intermediate to advanced beaders.  Sue uses her unique technique using a modified, diagonal tubular peyote stitch.

Advanced beaders will also like the cubic RAW tutorial for a triquetra, shown below.   This one is by Marlies and Christoph Vogel of pajaroandson. The cRAW triquetra has a smoother edge compared to the tubular peyote one above - the latter is due to the offset beads.

Another challenging triquetra tutorial is the design by Assza of AsszaBeadingArts.  This variation includes the circle!
