Many jewelry designers source some of their materials from the hardware store. We might be tempted to dismiss these as boho jewelry and not really high-end. However, innovative Spanish metalsmith Pablo Cimadevila whose work I featured before, will change minds!
What he does is to turn 2 humble hex nuts into a 1 carat diamond ring!
He explained in the info part of his video, "After 20 years of crafting jewelry sometimes I need to challenge myself just for the pleasure of creating." He clearly can craft the same engagement ring design using precious metals like 18 K white gold or platinum. But the brass ring looks just as good after he polished it up.
