I first spotted Ronel Durandt's work on Facebook.  I just love this South African designer's innovative beadwork tutorials - you can find them in Beadebonair.

Her designs are often geometric, a hot trend in the beading world, fresh and always different from others.  I have chosen my favorites from her necklace designs to feature here.

One of her new designs made it to a recent issue of the UK Bead magazine.

Ronel explained how she got into beading : "My first love was clothing design and pattern making and I have been involved in various aspects of the rag trade over the years.

I have always loved making things and in 2009 I fell in love with beading. I also like to work with polymer clay, silver clay and have tried my hand at mosaic and painting as well.

Beading is undoubtedly at the top of my list and I am always looking for new ideas and enjoy experimenting with beads in unusual ways."

Long may she continue!
