It will seem strange this year not to be able to wholeheartedly celebrate either Canada Day or the 4th of July.  But better safe then be sorry during this difficult time.  To quote the trademark mantra of Dr Bonnie Henry, British Columbia's provincial health officer, "It is our time to be kind, to be calm and to be safe."

How about celebrating virtually instead? Gloria Uhler of Domestic Diva-Online has a truly easy peasy patriotic beadwork pendant tutorial which you can quickly whip up in time for this Saturday!  Perhaps you can wear it when you have a Skype/Facetime/Messenger video/Zoom call etc with your nearest and dearest.

Gloria used my wood rings (available on my Etsy) which come in different sizes.  As you can see from her tutorial how easy it is to paint the rings.

There is a long list of countries which have red, white and blue in their flags. So this tutorial isn't just for Americans.

Only two colors in your national flag?  No problem.  For example, Canadians can easily use two red stripes of beads sandwiching a white one.  Same with the rings.

Happy 4th of July to my American readers!
