Susan of TurtleSoupBeads is an amazing all round crafter and beader. She uses proceeds from her Etsy store to fund the making of her clever Youtube videos.
This recent one is clever. She shows us how to recycle old watch faces by making them into beaded cabochons. I was suitable impressed with her old watch collection! Susan collects them as others collect buttons!
The section on how she dismantles the watch face is useful. She clearly has future ideas for the watch cases - I am thinking resin work! I suggest you also save any gears as they would be great for steampunk style jewelry.
She uses UV resin to dome up the watch face. Just remember to work in a ventilated environment especially with UV resin. Alternatively consider Little Resin's Brilliant Resin which is an excellent jewelry grade doming resin (15% off with discount code : BG1516).
She set the time on the watches. But you could also consider setting the time to birth times to make a truly unique option to birthstone jewelry.
I love her creative beaded bezel cabochon jewelry designs!
