The rosette wire ring is a popular one which many beginners try out.  I have seen many variations but never with a faceted gem. Most people use beads.

Australia based Oxana of OxanaCrafts on Youtube has a novel approach using a 5 mm faceted gem.  She shows how to capture it with wire in this tutorial.

Notice she uses square wire?  It's not just attractive but the squareness helps stabilize the stone capture. The tiny loop she makes also helps keep the stone within the wire coils.  It's best to keep this loop as small as possible so the stone is still visible.

This tutorial will take practice to get right. The wire work must be exactly tight. Too loose and the stone could pop up with use.

Oxana lists all the materials and tools she used in the video description.
