Wire work needs practice.  Here is a beautiful wire wrapped hoop earrings tutorial to practice with.  Oksana Trukhan of Ursula Jewelry designed it.  She is a wonderful wire work artisan whom I featured before!

This tutorial uses 3 gauges of wire with 20 G being used for the ear hole section. You cannot use wire thicker than this as it won't go through ear holes!

You can certainly custom the design to whatever size you want - just use a different bottle as the mandrel.  Another option is to make a pendant version by adapting the top part of the earrings. Instead of a hoop, complete the circle and make a wrapped loop at the top.

She also has a video version.
