Working with traditional cabochon wire wrapping means you are left with typically 6 wire ends to deal with.  Just watch Oxanacrafts' wonderful wire wrapped cabochon tutorial where she creates a design with an elegant bail. This tutorial is suitable for beginners.

Along the way, she shows you how to first reduce the number of wire ends from 6 down to 2 after the main wire wrapped bail part is complete. She then works with the remaining 4 ends - the combination of bare wire, wrapped wire and twisted wire makes for an attractive bail.

Square wire and wrapping with half round wire are best for this kind of project. The square wire easily stays together and next to each other because of the flat sides.  The flat part of the half round easily wire wraps around wire bundles and other square wire areas.  You could use round wire but believe you me, it is much easier with square wire.
