The next How to Photograph Jewelry webinar will be held this Sunday, April 15 at 2 pm EST. It's when I take you through the ins and outs of how to photograph your handmade jewelry so that they look as scrumptious as possible with the "buy me" look.  The emphasis will be on smartphone photography because the vast majority of you already have one. Many of today's phones have excellent cameras. Why buy a dSLR when you have an easy to use camera on hand?

Can you believe the summer is drawing to a close?  And kids are heading back to school soon.  This usually means we have more time for our artistic endeavors right?  Well, it's time to go back to school ourselves!  I have started to list all the scheduled as well as upcoming jewelry making classes I will be teaching at Iguana Beads. My next How to Photography Jewelry webinar is this Sunday at 2 pm EST - here is the signup/register link to be notified of the next one.  There is still space so email me beadinggem@yahoo.ca ASAP if you'd like to attend.  I focus on smartphone camera photography because more and more people (77% in the US, 70% in Canada, 66% in UK) have them and they are much, much easier to use. The quality of the smartphone cameras have improved considerably so it is hard to justify buying an expensive dSLR.  Wouldn't spend the money on beads, wire, glass etc?

The most recent How to Photograph Jewelry webinar was a blast! Lex McColl, the inventor of Modahaus was there.  Everyone was keen to learn and we had many lively questions and answers with Lex at the end.   Did the webinar make any difference to anyone?  Well, two designers certainly proved they have improved their jewelry photography.

The trial run last month for my How to Photograph Jewelry Webinar was a success.  You can read some of the feedback I received below. These lovely readers clearly learned from the webinar and found taking good pictures isn't such a big deal after all. Indeed, the webinar is geared to teach you what you need to know in the simplest and fastest way. It was also a lot of fun interacting with them!

After my last announcement for a local presentation on How to Photograph Jewelry, I received a number of pleas from readers further afield to do this online so they can attend. The ability to take good photos of jewelry designs is a necessary one and a skill which many, many artisans struggle with. I feel your pain because I myself have gone through pretty much the same angst and have had to work hard over the years learning and then improving my photographic skills not just for my little Etsy store but for this blog.
